Working for the weekend

oc half marathon logoThank GOD it's Friday!! The bags are packed, the tank is full on the Prius so this means we are ready to head off for a nice relaxing weekend at the beach! Sneaking out of work early today and dropping Milo off at Grandma's for his vacation weekend as well.

Saturday I am running my first of 3 half marathons in 3 weeks. I am excited yet a little nervous at the same time. My allergies have kicking butt and I am a little worried as I ran the other night around the neighborhood and had issues with breathing. I would like to up my PR time but it might not happen this weekend. This race will also be the first event where I bring out my HF tank. Super duper excited and I found a great white running skirt to go with it too.

Toes in the sand, Haunted Mansion on the boardwalk, Dolly's candy and relaxing is in store this weekend!

Last year in Rehoboth Beach

Have any fun plans for the weekend? Are you relaxing? Running? or doing anything with the family?

Make it a great one what ever you end up doing.

Almost Wordless Wednesday -future 2012 plans

Well the cat is out of the bag..... I talked Mr. P in letting me sign up for 2 yes TWO races for 2012. I am so excited I can't stand it......

1.  Here I come New Orleans for a repeat trip but this time you are getting me for a full 26.2!!! The best was being what RR this year calls it an Alumni so I got the super SPECIAL discount. The difference in the price will get me a few more Pat O' Briens. HOOORAY!!!

2.  The next best news today is I am going home to PORTLAND to run  visit. I am super excited about this since I will be Rocking the 13.1 in the Rock and Roll marathon for 2012. It is the first year for the RR event to take place.

Look real close that is me telling the world I AM made in Oregon.

So SO so SOOO excited for 2012. I still have a bunch of fun events and things planned for 2011 but this is really exciting and I just had to share with you all!

Make it a great rest of the night. I am off to pack my running back since this is race weekend number 1 of 3 weekends in a row. Super excited to add a new moon to my HF club!

Sunday Funday Easter edition

Happy Easter Ya'll!

the only Easter shot where Milo was semi sitting still.
This weekend was a busy one but chalked full of fun. Cook out in some beautiful weather on Saturday with some great friends-check, much needed yard work done-check, errands all ran in record breaking time-check, 5 mile run on Saturday morning-check and not to forget Easter brunch-check. I even got all the shutters painted. That was a huge accomplishment.  Now time to get them on the house STAT!
Great weekend!!!

This afternoon we had some really crazy storms come threw that has turned our back yard into the great lakes. Milo loves splashing in the yard in them. I had to walk out in the middle of the yard and dangle duck jerky at him just to get him to come in. He loves playing in the yard.

A few flowers are starting to bloom and my yard is starting to come alive. Now we just need a few days of sun with out the rain for some real blooming to begin.
Mr. Fats came out to enjoy the sun and back yard

Hope you had a wonderful day filled with family and friends. Plenty of food and plenty of laughter.

Happy Easter!

Thankful Thursday

Three things Thursday to be thankful for,

1. Let’s talk about the Jelly Bean race that RunwithJess is doing. Last night I incorporated and also recruited a few of my best running buddies from my running club to run this with me since we were scheduled for a meet up anyway. I was thinking about running this on the TM (dread mill) with Milo but the weather has been way too nice to run inside. Plus I wanted to push my self a little harder and I tend to be super lazy when I am on my own running. Our group was due for a 4 mile run so I contacted Karl who was the host this week of the run and he scheduled and mapped us a 5K with an extended route to make it a full 5 mile run. We ran pavement, dirt, grass, crushed rock and huge boulder rocks as well. The trail was so beautiful and shaded (thank god with the heat and killer sun yesterday) with plenty of rolling hills. Some of the hills were so steep that we had to walk up and walk down. Great butt lifter though!!
What a great run last night and great time with friends. I finished 30min 04 seconds. Thanks Kim for pushing me hard up those hills.

2. Let's talk about Milo for a second. Not MILO the worlds best dog but Milo the drink! Its a Malt Chocolate drink that my mom sent me and I didn't want to try it because I am not fond of water in my chocolate but I was brave and tried it the other day. Now every single day I crave my chocolate I am having one of these. They are an energy type drink plus it's so cool to walk around with my free bottle that came with it. Everyone who sees it can't believe I had Milo's name put on a bottle. I have to tell them its Milo's new job to help pay the mortgage. (really it's not it just happens to be the same name but what do they know right?) I am thankful for my afternoon low cal. drink that has taken away my need for a sweet and vending machine raid around 2:30pm each day.

3. I Love LOVE love puppies...... But I want to say a big THANK YOU to Molly!!! She was the foster mom for Milo last spring and into summer. She sent me an old email via smile box that she had sent me a while back. I posted it on Milo's Facebook page if you want to look at 31 pictures of his adorable face.
Milo in the yellow with his mom Lilly and the rest of the litter.

Milo on transport in May 2010 headed to Molly's
Well those are just 3 thinGS I am thankful for.
I am also going to add a 4th-I am THANKFUL my ring is almost done and ready for my finger soon and was fixable!!!
Make it a great day!

Wonderful NOT Wordless Wednesday!

Unlike last week this week has been blowing by with speed. I can't believe it's already Wednesday Hump Day!

Last night I got 3 more shutters painted and ran out of paint! Arg........ I have 3 more to do and 2 to touch up and they will be ready to hang. On pace to be done by the end of April way before old Mom comes for a visit. Hooray!!!

Tonight is my running club night where I run with my group or try to run with one of the girls in my group. So I am excited as long as the thunder storms hold off that tonight is the night to trail run 4-5 miles then socialize over a cocktail. I also have my Jelly Bean-5K I am going to run tonight as well and incorporate it with my run tonight. Let's see if I can get everyone to run with me. I believe I saw the RSVP and we had 10 runners due to show. (of course that is also if we don't get thunder storms) So I am ready to get out on the trail and run. Last run was Sunday's 10K and I start my 3 Half Marathons in a row next week so I have to start running 3-4 times a week (short runs) and my long runs over the weekends. It's almost bikini season people!!

I almost forgot to share I have an update on the old Diamond Ring....... It is totally fixable. So glad given I didn't want to file a claim with my insurance and go threw all that.Plus pay a deductible!!! I want my original ring and that is that. 2-3 weeks but who cares as long as I get the one I wanted and have always loved.

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday.
Has your week gone by as fast as mine?

I STILL can't believe the week is almost over.

Just another Manic Monday….

I wish it was Sunday because that is my Fun Day! I have had this song stuck in my head just about all morning today thanks to a dear co-worker of mine.

Recap of a busy weekend:

Friday night went well I sort of forgot exactly what we did but it was Mr. Fat’s birthday so it was another excuse to eat desert before dinner. We ended up ordering a cheese pizza for dinner since its Meatless Friday STILL (insert grumpy non catholic here). This week is the last week of NO MEAT on Fridays and let me tell you this Friday the 29th will be the eve of my next Half Marathon and I plan to CARB LOAD with MEAT! This not eating meat on Friday’s is so hard.

Pizza from up the street. I can't wait to have meat on my pizza.
Saturday was a wash out. No really it rained and stormed for hours. We got our much needed grass seeded so I am going to cross my fingers we see something green in a few weeks growing or we are out $50.00 in grass seed. I had no idea grass was so expensive.

We did however get our errands done and scored a couple new buckets of paint. My shutters are on my mind to have repainted and up before Mom comes for a visit in May. (I placed this goal on my self) I also scored a small can of red paint to paint my front door. I can’t wait to share my before and after with you all. I am almost free of 80’s turquoise. I have had a small shade of it in almost every single room in my house but now we are down to the doors and the living room. This shows progress in the house since we moved in January 2010.

Here you can see the old shutters and see what I am dealing with!

Sunday I ran the Clyde’s 10K in Columbia here and had such a great time as always. Last year I ran this with a couple of girl friends but this year I ran it with my running club and my dear friend from work Nona.
Last year at the event.

It was her first 10K and I felt like a MOM at it. Making sure she was ready to go. She and I have been talking about her getting ready for a 5K and 10K for a couple of years now. Now I am going to try and talk her into running a half marathon with me. She laughs and says NO WAY but I have a feeling one day I will be seeing her.

Hope you have a wonderful evening!!

I am off to be a slave over the shutters.

C.

TGIF Mr. Fats is TEN!

 FOTO FRIDAY!
Now everyone knows I love my dog but not too many know how much I love my cat. Mr. Fats and me go way back. All the way back from when I picked him out at the cat rescue. As soon as I saw him I knew he was MINE. He is a cat/dog. He must sleep right next to me every night. He won't sleep next to Mr.P only me. He has a strange way of sleeping next to me and putting his paw right on me too.
Any WHOOOOOO........

Today’s picture's of the week are of my dear buddy and also birthday boy Mr. Fats aka Cougar.

8 weeks old when I first got you.

Happy 10 years old big guy!!
9 years old.
Broke into the cat nip to help him self and then passed out. LOL
Do you have any fun plans this weekend?
Well lot's of fun things planned this weekend for us but Sunday I will be running the Clyde's of Columbia 10K. I didn't do much this past week and plan to run slow with a friend of mine who is running her first 10K. SO excited for her too.

Make it a great weekend.

this thursday has 3 things.

Today is the first day in a WHOLE week where the sun is out shinning and it's not raining. thisis one thing but I am not going to count it as my 3 things. I can do that now since this is my blog and my rants!

The weather for April here in Maryland is always sort of bi-polar (rain, snow, sun and even heat)  but this month has been a really crazy depressing month full of Oregon like clouds and rain. I can't wait to get outside and actually get some sun on my skin since Mr Sunshine is here to visit today. I have to be honest I might just be the whites woman on earth right now. I mean my legs right now are so white if I had a skirt on you might think I have white tights on and not bare legs. EEEGads!

This is how white they look currently.

So let me cut to the chase for a second and tell you about my 3 things this week!

1. A very dear friend that I really love here at work has seen that I am not my chipper then usual self and left me a note on Tuesday morning and a little snack. She and I both share a love for running, eating sweets and talking about our daily soaps. So she knew I was going to be coming in on Tuesday a little uneasy about my appointment, nervious and restless all in one. This dear friend knows how to turn my frown upside down and left me a whole box of...... PEEEPS and of all kinds chocolate covered. DELISH!!! If you are a peep lover I must say run not walk and get some! BTW Thank you dear friend for the really sweet note, peeps and the flower. You are a true dear friend!
mouth watering PEEEEEPS!!!

2. I am on the look out for a new leash for my best running buddy and me. I found a couple of them but find that they are expensive. I even thought about buying an extra large one but was scared if I do that it would be too tight around my waste. So long story short this item is on my shopping list right now. It's dog running season for sure. Do you know anyone who has one that could recomend a good one?

3. I am desperate for a VACATION. I am counting down the weekends until my toes hit the sand again. Mr. P and I are so ready for a nice vacation to relax, get in the sun and do my 5th half marathon in 5 months!!!

Hope you had a great day!! Today was a good one for me or at least it feels like a good one. I found out I am only 10 THOUSAND points away from a free Sandals.com vacation. HOOOORAY!! Best news in almost a full 2 weeks. Oh yea and my ring is in the shop getting fixed.

Make it a great day.
Love, C.

Almost Wordless Wednesday 2 Picture addition

So everyone has a bad day or week but this girl has had a bad 2 weeks. I broke my wedding ring.
YES this sums up the past 2 weeks for me.

I have not done much running and have really not done much to be perfectly honest except eat way too many jelly beans. I wish Easter would hurry up and get here so the jelly beans and peeps are not temping me. I have had a streak of blues that has taken over me the past few weeks but I have pinpointed that and blame that on a few things such as a M-F thing and a certain appointment on the 12th that I was more worried and nervous about then anything. I also think it has been a steak of so many bad things going on with so many people I love has got me down.

Big beautiful diamond not on it's stand... GO DUCKS though!!!
On the other hand I did have a fun past week when MILO turned 1 year old!!!!! I really do believe this little guy is beyond spoiled and not just by me. Thank you Grandma's for all the presents!!!

Well tomorrow is one day closer to the weekend and one day closer to the end of April. Hurry up Friday and hurry up May as these past 2 weeks you have dished have been a capital F in my books!

Here is hoping for a great day tomorrow.
Love,
C.

National Beer Day…WHAT???

Yes that is right TODAY is National Beer Day!!!

This could also been a day called National Liquid Carb. Load day too but I won't even go there. You might remember the snail's pace at which time passed when you waited for your 21st birthday, but can you imagine being an adult and waiting more than a decade to buy beer legally?

Well I don’t think I could wait that long for an ice cold BEER. In fact I don’t think I
could wait that long for a frosty can of  Natty Boh. Only my favorite beer in a can!!

So frost those mugs or hit the town and get a designated driver to drive you around. Heck why not just rent a limo and go all out like you just turned 21 all over again.
National Beer Day has even started a New Beer’s Eve day.

Now how cool is that? I totally missed it but will be partaking in National Beer Day tonight!  Why wouldn’t  I we? Mr.P only works for a Beer Company and it seems as if our life is all about what new beer he is or isn’t selling.

Every year people gather on the eve of today (April 6th for those who just don’t get it or are too blasted from N.B.Day to get it) to ring in the new day New Years Eve style. People fill bars, fill streets and have parties. All celebrating by drinking beers college style, old skool style or even just enjoying a nice pour.

Milo's nose is cold but not this cold!

So tip your glass, toast to new and old friends and get out and be safe but enjoy!

What is your favorite beer?

Mine is Natty Boh

Do you enjoy beer in a can, bottle or draft?

I like a can of Boh but an ice cold draft if it’s a good pour.

Make it a great day!!

Love,
C.
