Falling into Winter 2010 recap.

Work out: TM 2.7 miles speed work!

Well the end of 2010 went out with a bang. I didn't do my part and update this so I will do a recap of falling into winter of 2010 and one of my commitments it to be better at keeping a diary.

Last update was prior to my oldest boy cousin passing. Cowboy RJ passed in September of 2010 and I flew home to attend his memorial and spend some QT with the family. It was great getting to reconnect with some long lost family.  The service was on the same weekend as the Portland Marathon so I jumped at the chance to run in the Half Marathon. So I quickly contacted the Boys and Girls Club and go a bib number along with a plane ticket for out west and the long weekend was booked and ready. Next was to figure out just exactly what I was going to wear...... Hmmmm Since I was running in honor of RJ why not in a cowboy outfit?!? Not exactly the best thing to wear when running but I could figure something out. I ended up pairing my Team Sparkle skirt along side a cute pair of cowboy boot knee socks and mom found me a craft store brown cowboy hat to pin on the back. Perfect outfit for a fitting day. Once I was finished I rushed back to Hillsboro to shower, eat and off to RJ's memorial. The service was set in an old horse barn not too far from the farm and was a perfect service for a true Cowboy!

Mid-October brought me to my first ever FULL marathon. Yes and I still can't believe my body didn't give up on me......GULP.....

"ME" the 21 mile marker and not looking too bad!

Running 26.2 miles is not a joke. No really it tears your body up and your mind play all sort of tricks on you. Here is what I was thinking around mile 17 when it was nothing but Baltimore hills in the Ghetto and 30mph winds...
Are we there yet? NO
Are we there yet? NO

Are we THERE YET? NO
Are we there YET?? YES almost!!!!!
Awwww the perfect sign to see 1 mile to go and the 25 mile marker. I started to choke up and get to where I couldn't breath. I was so scared to even think I could do something so far and so hard. Well I can now say I am proud to have completed it even though I am not the fastest runner nor am I am a Kenyan but I did finish 26.2 miles.

Halloween this year brought out the Squirrel in the house bet you can't guess who it is........

It's me Milo the one mom hasn't talked about in this whole post!

Turkey day seemed to come and go and we didn't really do too much other then over stuff our bellies, not do any sort of running (yes BAD "me") but we did get a chance to do a family trip to Dewey/Rehoboth Beach and run on the beach.
Dewey Beach Delaware

Tis the season to be Jolly-I call this the month of over eating, too much Christmas Music and way too much family time BUT most of you call it your favorite month. As always December flew in and flew out just as fast as it arrived.
Holiday lights Hampden BOH style!
I did the Rehoboth Beach Half Marathon
Easy fast run with some beach, trail and road. Not to forget a great beer tent after!!
Milo was on the sideline with Mr P to watch me finish my 4th state Half Marathon and get this beach themed Bling.
Holiday day  off from work was all about hanging out with Mr Fats & Milo for a day to decorated the house and blast Mr. P's stereo with Christmas Music GLEE CHRISTMAS. (good thing he doesn't read this because i would be in huge trouble)
Look how cute my 2 boys are dressed up like Santa's helpers!

All in all 2010 was a great end to a very busy year! Thanks for reading and looking at all our pictures. I like to talk about our wonderful family and fab life and will share more in my 2011 post and goals. I have 6 running events in 5 months! Very excited!!
So I have set a few goals and things I want to accomplish in 2011. No it's not loose a ton of weight and look like the next Kate Moss or try and become a Kenyan in 1 year. It's a few real goals I will share later in my next post.

Did you set a goal or resolution for 2011? You know you want to share.......
